Tooth Extractions

We only ever remove a tooth when there’s no other way to save it. If an extraction is the right option, our dentists will take a gentle, careful approach, make sure the area is fully numb and explain each step before we begin. We’ll also talk you through your options for replacing the tooth, so you know what comes next.

What to expect..

Examination

We will examine your mouth and explore the options we have for saving your tooth. If it becomes clear that this is not a possibility, an extraction will need to be performed.
It is important that you inform us of all medical issues past and present to aid our planning.

Extraction

We will first make sure the anaesthetic is applied to the area of soft tissue around the tooth to achieve complete numbness. We ensure this process is pain free. Your tooth is then gently and carefully loosened and removed.

Dr Gary Cohen and his team are very experienced in managing this scenario and are confident in reducing understandable anxiety prior to the procedure. Please be reassured that tooth extractions are a very routine process and our patients are often surprised at how simple and painless they are.
